Boy, when it rains it pours! I have been following these developments because of the long-term strategic implications for the Middle East. Earlier, Israel discovered a very large reservoir of natural Gas off of its coast. Enough to supply much of its energy needs for at least 15 years. Well, today it was announced that even more gas was discovered a little farther to the south. Israel could become a net exporter of energy in the coming years with all that that implies. It's interesting how these energy finds have barley made it into the larger media but are headline news in smaller journals that follow Middle East politics and energy.

Israel is making difficult for its friends in the Muslim world to stay friends with it by constantly killing innocent people. Be it Turkey or Egypt, Israel’s actions have made it near impossible for the governments in the said countries to overtly support it.
