USAID, An Important Agency Walking Around Clueless

"Palestinian police found several Iranian agents and an Iranian general teaching the students in the U.S.-funded chemistry lab how to make suicide bombs."

"Granted $180,000 to a Bosnian group whose president was, since 1997, included on a "watch list" barring his entry into the United States."

"A man sentenced to four years in prison for lying about his dealings with a disciple of Usama bin Laden had been part of a group that received $1 million from USAID."

"Randall L. Tobias, a former chairman and chief executive of Eli Lilly & Company and of AT&T International, resigned abruptly last April, amid disclosures he had patronized a Washington, D.C., escort service."
I did some consulting work for a USAID contractor in Gaza, and found their key staff in DC to be snot-nose lefties with an affinity for the "Palestinian cause" who tended to complain about those "pushy Jews." So none of this surprises me in the least. It's not just incompetence, it's an agency that tends to attract an unusual percentage of folks immersed in the ideological sewer of moral relativism. The above photo is of a Palestinian standing in front of Israeli made greenhouses that were destroyed by Palestinians following the Gaza disengagement. The Israelis left hundreds of such greenhouses in tact so that Palestinians could grow their own food and create jobs. An excellent idea if managed correctly. Wealthy US Jews put up the money for the greenhouses to remain and USAID was to help administer the program with our tax dollars. The USAID contractor was completely clueless of how to handle the program and navigate the political sensitivities, and the Palestinians quickly destroyed the greenhouses for the metal and other material they could scavenge. Undoubtedly, some of that metal has returned to Israel in the form of Kassam rockets landing on its southern cities.
