Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week: Another Home Run for the David Horowitz Freedom Center

The David Horowitz Freedom Center is sponsoring Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week on university campuses across the country, and this years focus is on "the brutal oppression of women by Islamic radicals and by the regimes they control such as Saudi Arabia and Iran."

"Despite their vigilance in behalf of women’s rights in America and other Western nations, Women’s Studies Departments across the nation have been strangely passive in the face of the barbaric treatment of women in Islamic regimes. Numerous hours are spent in the classroom, dissecting the reasons for the ‘wage gap’ in America, violence against women and the ‘privileges’ accorded Caucasian males. But courses on the plight of women in Islamic regimes are strangely absent. Where there are a few courses that touch on Islamic women in Women’s Studies programs, the focus is often cultural and literary, while the abuses go unmentioned. This failure to confront the abuse of women who live in Islamic countries stands in stark contrast to the mission statements of many Women’s Studies departments."
I'm sure what she's really worried about is the "glass ceiling". All that business about burying women alive or stoning them to death for "immodest behavior"...well that's just a minor cultural difference...now how about that "wage gap" and those evil white males?

  1. Joe: You nailed it again. Lib women go crazy at the smallest slight, especially in the work place, where a white man can have his reputation and career ruined simply by an unprovable accusation. Feminists demand equality, but when a men act like men and sometimes uses locker room language, they run to the HR Dept. in tears with claims of a "hostile work environment." Some equality!
All the while, women in Islamic nations live like slaves, having half the value of a male. There is little complaint from feminists over their sisters' plight.
Of course the greatest defense to Islamic oppression of women is the strong Western male. He's one of the few willing to fight back against Islamic barbarity. No matter, feminists hate him more than they fear the Islamist.
Get out the tape measure, girls, that burka will look good in black on you.

  2. This absolutely makes me despair. I did a master's level course about 10 years ago called "The Human Rights of Women" here in the UK. The big issue then was American "feminists" turning a blind eye to female genital mutilation. Our American feminist/academic friends believe in cultural relativism and seem to think that the Brits and Aussie feminists must be racist because "we are imposing our views".

For crying out loud! Abuse is WRONG no matter how you slice it.
