US State Department Offers Aid to Hamas Terrorist-led Government

It is sometimes difficult for the average person to identify which country the US State Department actually represents. It was only a few weeks ago that the State Department was busy condemning Danish cartoonists and the free press instead of rioting hordes burning down Western embassies.

In the latest example of unbelievable hypocrisy and poor judgment, US State Department bureaucrat David Welch promised continued US aid to a Hamas-led Palestinian Authority. Never mind that Hamas is the terror group that pioneered the concept of the Suicide Bomber and is on the State Departments own list of terrorist organizations. Mr. Welch wrapped his promises in the usual diplomatic cover-language, using the term “humanitarian” aid, and naturally, he made the promise to Hamas indirectly through the more amiable but weak Fatah leader, Abbas, hoping that this will go largely unnoticed as the major policy blunder that it is. The aid is laughingly and embarassingly discribed as "Abbas focused aid."

"The United States has long been a supporter of the Palestinian people, through a substantial contribution of our foreign assistance funds... we continue to be devoted to the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people and it shall remain so," Welch said, despite the fact that the “Palestinian people” that he supports just elected in a landslide one of the worlds most ruthless terror organizations as their representatives. So much for the “War on Terror.”
